Master of Science in Addiction Counseling

The Texas Tech University Master of Science in Addiction Counseling (MSAC) is one of the first programs in the country designed to train practitioners in both clinical counseling skills and distance service provision techniques. The MSAC program is currently applying for accreditation through the Council for Accreditation for Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Graduates will be eligible to pursue certification as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in many states.

This program is ideal for students who work full-time or cannot take on the challenges associated on-campus studies. Students do not have any requirements to attend classes in a physical location.

  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.7 from all previous institutions or a cumulative GPA of 2.7 in the last 60 semester hours of classes

  • Two letters of recommendation
